Serving as a supervisor of school psychology trainees is a rewarding way to share your expertise with early career professionals, engage in ongoing professional development, and counter professional burnout. This webinar covers strategies for effective supervision of school psychology trainees, including how to establish strong supervisory relationships, proactively structure experiences appropriate to the supervisee’s level of training (e.g., intern, practicum student), and deliver feedback to promote supervisee development. Case studies are presented to illustrate key concepts. This webinar is appropriate for novice supervisors, as well as experienced supervisors looking to refine their skills. Presenter

Angie Whalen, PhD, NCSP

Dr. Whalen is a licensed psychologist and nationally certified school psychologist, and the Program Director of the APA-accredited School Psychology Program at the University of Oregon. As a Clinical Professor, she has over 15 years of experience supervising school psychology trainees and coordinating school- and clinic-based practicum experiences. Dr. Whalen’s scholarship and teaching activities focus on training and professional practices in school psychology, including ethics and clinical supervision.
