This webinar focuses on two cutting edge issues in providing affirmative care for transgender/nonbinary people seeking therapeutic care. The first hour will address issues of referral and letter-writing for trans/nonbinary people seeking medical treatment, with the goal of minimizing gatekeeping, and amplifying informed consent. The second hour will focus on the providing affirmative for gender nonconforming, nonbinary, and transgender children and adolescents. Affirmative treatment highlights the need for family support, social transitions, advocacy in schools, and puberty suppression.
