Explore the ethical considerations and cultural implications of using AI and technology in mental health support. This webinar will address issues of bias in AI algorithms, cultural sensitivity in digital interventions, and strategies for ensuring equitable access to digital mental health resources across diverse populations.

Learning Objectives

1. Identify digital mental health tools such as online mental health platforms, teletherapy apps, digital therapeutics, virtual mental health services, mobile mental health apps, and digital mental health interventions.

2. Recognize potential sources of bias in AI algorithms used in digital mental health assessments and interventions.

3. Obtain skills to create or adapt mental health interventions that are culturally sensitive and inclusive.

Valamere Mikler, PhD

Dr. Valamere Mikler is an educator, community advocate, and researcher. She is the founder of She Ran Tech, Inc., a digital privacy and tech-education initiative that educates and empowers girls and women on internet safety and securing STEM careers, especially for self-identifying people of color. With a background in criminal justice, business, and industrial organizational psychology, Dr. Mikler advocates for equity in the workplace, technology and DEI spaces. Her work aims to create opportunities, curate resources, and call to action for social change.
