Description

This webinar is an opportunity to gain an understanding of the key takeaways of Dr. Fraser’s newest book, Crisis Intervention: Using Tipping Points to Achieve Transformative Change in Therapy. It will also build on his most recent APA Psychotherapy Series video demonstrating the approach with cases of suicide and intimate partner violence.
The webinar follows the unifying golden thread of a process model of intervention with applications to evidence supported approaches to suicide, PTSD, grief and mourning, intimate partner violence, and other crises, often treated separately as unrelated approaches. As opposed to currently disconnected risk reduction approaches, the process model embraces crises as tipping points for transformative change across all crises.

Learning Objectives

  1.      Explain the bases of a process approach to crises and to rapid, transformative change.
  2.      Track the process of change model across a wide range of seemingly different crises.
  3.      Describe how to build on client values and goals to build collaboration in often seemingly counterintuitive yet universally effective interventions.
